All-electric Lexus RZ coming for 2023

The world's very first all-electric Lexus is about to make its debut at Spinelli, your Lexus dealer in Pointe-Claire! It is built on a platform created exclusively for electric vehicles (e-TNGA) and features a very light frame. The 2023 Lexus RZ promises to deliver an exciting performance backed by a generous autonomy. What's more, its interior is packed with the latest technologies.

All-Electric Lexus RZ: striking lines that have everyone talking 

You won't be able to take your eyes off the beautiful design of this all-electric Lexus SUV! You will recognize the trapezoid front end, which is slightly different from the gasoline models. In fact, this design will be the signature of Lexus electric models. This SUV is equipped with 18- to 20-inch wheels, depending on the options you chose. What's more, the new design will improve the aerodynamic performance of the RZ, which in turn will enhance its fuel efficiency.

You will have the choice of four exterior colours, as well as a two-tone colour scheme with a black roof (optional).

This Lexus electric car boasts a sleek and elegant interior. All versions come standard with a panoramic sunroof, as well as numerous conveniences such as the first-ever radiant heating system offered by Lexus.

Specs of the first-ever all-electric Lexus

To date, Lexus has revealed few details about the power of this electric vehicle. However, we do know that it will be equipped with 2 electric motors - one on each axle - with a power of 150 and 80 kW respectively. Also, Lexus estimates a range of approximately 360 km for its electric Lexus, if you opt for 18-inch wheels.

For now, we don't know how much net power the Lexus RZ will generate, but rumours have it that it could be around 308 horsepower. What's more, you'll be able to charge your electric Lexus with Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 charging, although the charging time for each level has yet to be revealed.

Finally, the Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system is able to deliver 100% of the torque to the front or rear as needed, ensuring a smooth and responsive ride.

The Interior

Modernity and refinement are the signature features of the Lexus RZ! The interior is spacious and opulent thanks to its use of premium materials such as ultrasuede door accents, a wood-grain finish for the overhead console, and a variety of interior colours to choose from.

In terms of on-board technology, the Lexus RZ is well ahead of its rivals thanks to its innovative features such as steering wheel controls synchronized with the head-up display, radiant knee heating (a first), the Lexus Interface system with a 14-inch touchscreen and voice commands, and many others.

This electric Lexus SUV also features the Lexus+ 3.0 safety suite, which comes standard with, among other things:

Moreover, the RZ is equipped with a driver monitoring system that detects the level of driver alertness and combines it with each of the technologies mentioned above. If the system detects that the driver is drowsy or unable to operate the vehicle, it will apply the brakes, correct course or gradually slow down to reduce the risk of an accident.
