Want to know what the 2021 Lexus RX has in store for you? Spinelli Lexus Pointe-Claire tells you all about the new Lexus SUV!
In production since 1998, the Lexus RX has been winning over buyers of luxury mid-size SUVs since its first generation. Distinctive design, top-notch performance, and luxury at the highest level: the first RX already offered performances that placed it right at the top of the class, alongside the German tenors. But all that will be made even better by 2021. Indeed, while there has been little information from Lexus Canada, we expect that for the above-mentioned model year, the SUV will continue to build on the momentum of the 2020 model year, for which Lexus has made a major redesign, bringing with it a host of new Lexus RX upgrades. Spinelli Lexus Pointe-Claire, your Lexus dealer covering the area stretching from Montreal's West Island to Laval, tells you what you can expect for the 2021 Lexus RX in the metropolitan region in terms of specifications and pricing.
Design: refined and athletic exterior styling that's refreshing in the Greater Montreal area.
In our opinion, the exterior styling of the 2021 RX will be almost identical to that of the current RX, which has been significantly revised for 2020. And that's a very good thing. In fact, this one is a pure success story in terms of exterior lines. With tapered headlights, a large, very airy hourglass-shaped grille, ultra-sculpted sides, a wave-shaped rear quarter panel leading to the most expressive taillights, the 2021 RX and 2021 RX L will visually offer a highly racy and distinctive design in the metropolitan area! Indeed, the competition, especially from Germany, often offers rather conservative, conventional lines. So if you want an original design that stands out from the rest of the class, we recommend you wait until the new 2021 RX vehicles come out!
Powertrains: performance and ecology are the order of the day!
As you know, however, it's what goes on under the hood that makes or breaks a luxury mid-size SUV in the Greater Montreal area. And when they come out, the 2021 Lexus RX will be no exception. But since they should be based on the same powertrains as the current RX and RX L, there's no need to worry.
To be sure, they're as efficient as they are eco-friendly. First of all, the 2021 RX 350 and 2021 RX 350 L variants should be powered by combustion engines that are as noble as they are powerful. The former should be powered by a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine with 295 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, the power of which will be transmitted to the ground via an all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission. As for the second, we think it will be a six-cylinder as well, with a 3.5-litre displacement like the first, but with an output of 290 horsepower. Here again, all-wheel drive will normally be standard, and the entire cavalry should go through a CVT.
The RX 450h and RX 450h L should also be re-equipped with exactly the same powertrain, namely a hybrid powertrain developing 308 horsepower, which will be transmitted to all four wheels (all-wheel drive) via the same e-CVT gearbox. With the 2021 Lexus RX 450h and 2021 Lexus RX 450h L, you'll have the best of both worlds, because they're sure to be capable and energy-efficient wherever you drive between the West Island and the North Shore of Montreal!
An interior that should be very versatile and extremely well equipped for your everyday life.
Knowing that it's almost certain that the current RX lineup will be renewed as is for 2021, you should find, in our opinion, the very high-level features offered on the different 2020 versions, starting with its choice of two seat configurations, depending on the variant chosen. Indeed, you will be able to bring up to 5 passengers in the 2021 RX 350/450h, up to 6 in the 2021 RX 450h L, and up to 7 in the 2021 RX 350 L. So there should be a RX variant that will meet your needs for the next model year!
You should also be able to count on the best technology from Lexus, which is to say the most advanced innovations in the segment. Heated and ventilated leather front seats, moonroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces for your smartphone, or head-up display: the 2021 RX should offer you, depending on the version, everything you expect from a premium Lexus SUV!
